ADNEC Highlights Abu Dhabi as Ideal MICE Destination at IMEX Frankfurt 2017

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 15 May, 2017 – Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) is marking an emphatic participation at the 2017 edition of Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events (IMEX), the largest European trade show for the international congress, conference and events sector, currently underway at Messe Frankfurt in Germany.

The delegation from ADNEC is attending various co-located events including the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) Sales & Marketing Summit, International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) General Assembly, ICCA Venue Sector Meeting, ICCA Middle East Chapter Meeting and IMEX Association Evening.

As part of the agenda, ADNEC will host a breakfast meet-and-greet for key clients on 17 May at the Abu Dhabi pavilion at IMEX. Held in partnership with Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, the informal gathering will seek to encourage clients to host their international meetings in Abu Dhabi and enhance their awareness of the various support programmes and destination benefits Abu Dhabi offers.

ADNEC’s participation in IMEX Frankfurt reiterates its efforts to promote Abu Dhabi as a preferred destination for business tourism. The event offers an ideal platform to showcase the Group’s award-winning venues and facilities meeting planners, buyers and event organisers. Furthermore, IMEX fosters networking opportunities with professionals within the incentive travel, meetings and events industry, thus strengthening relationships and identifying new avenues to further expand ADNEC’s portfolio of international events. In collaboration with key stakeholders in the business tourism supply chain, ADNEC seeks to solidify its position as the leading venue provider to international exhibitions, conferences and events.

IMEX annually convenes a global raft of professionals from every sector in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry. In 2016, the event drew the participation of more than 3,500 worldwide exhibitors, 3,977 hosted buyers, 4,955 trade visitors and hundreds of meeting professionals from 90 countries. IMEX 2017 features a series of educational sessions, networking programmes, workshops and thought sessions, among others.
ADNEC’s flagship venue, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, offers 133,000 square metres of interconnected floor space to meet the requirements of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.5 million people across 480 events in 2016.
