22 March 2017, UAE, Dubai: Step Up Academy, a homegrown dance school from Dubai, has announced that it is the first and only group from the UAE to be chosen to perform live at one of the largest and most high profile venues in the world, Disneyland Paris. On 28th March, the unique group of 22 young dancers from 14 different countries will showcase their talent at the ‘Perform in the Magic’ show in front of an audience of more than one thousand spectators – proudly representing the rich diversity of the UAE as well as its position as a hub for high quality art and dance.
Following a strict audition process, the young group made it through with the support of their five dance teachers including Victoria Lovering, Step Up Academy Manager. They are set to perform a 20 minute piece, inspired by their own roots – whereby they will portray the beauty of diversity and highlight how art and dance in the UAE brings people together.
Victoria Lovering commented, “We are so proud to have been invited to perform on such a globally recognised stage and in doing so, represent the UAE. Our students and our dance teachers have worked incredibly hard to achieve this acknowledgement from Disneyland Paris. They are all truly passionate about dance, which has shone through during the audition period and we are confident that our group of talented youngsters are going to wow the audiences with their performance.”
During their trip to Disneyland Paris, the students and teachers will be treated to the full Disney treatment including an exclusive workshop with its own musical theatre and dance professionals.
“At Step Up Academy we give the students the highest level of training and encourage their love for the art form. We focus on building a strong family bond with all our students and their parents – so this makes the opportunity coming up even more special” continued Lovering.
