ESET First to Break Magical 100 VB100 Awards Threshold

Dubai, UAE, 24 December 2016:  ESET, the global pioneer of proactive endpoint security software, has reached a monumental milestone in the security industry – the ESET NOD32 is the first product to ever pass the magical threshold of 100 individual VB100 Awards received by a single product. The one hundredth VB100 Award was presented to Richard Marko, ESET CEO, by John Hawes, Virus Bulletin’s Chief of Operations.

“We are honoured to be the first security vendor to receive 100 VB100 Awards for a single product,” said Marko  at the ceremony. “Since the first VB100 Award in 1998, we have grown from a small dynamic company made up of a few technologists into an established endpoint security vendor with over 100 million users in more than 200 countries and territories.” 

Having presented its first Virus Bulletin Award (VB100) in 1998, Virus Bulletin, an independent testing organisation, is considered  the most renowned accolade in the industry. To earn an award, an anti-malware product must detect all current “in‐the‐wild” viruses without producing any false positives.
