Middle East, 11 November, 2016 – NEC Display Solutions Europe announced its decision to redirect development resources away from future medical diagnostic displays and instead to focus on its extensive hospital-wide display portfolio. With the growing need for displays in the healthcare segment, NEC is ideally placed to meet the needs of the market by offering a wide range of display solutions such as hospital clinical review displays, operating theatre displays and hospital information and signage solutions.
To meet the evolving customer demands in healthcare, NEC will now focus its development efforts and resources in key business areas including dental and clinical review, administration and back office, information way-finding, digital signage, education and conferencing. NEC will continue to bring display innovations to its professional healthcare product portfolio
“While discontinuing future development in the medical diagnostic display market is a difficult decision, we are determined that now is the appropriate time to accelerate innovation in the markets where we deliver the greatest benefits and highest value,” said Bernd Eberhardt, President and CEO at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “We are thankful for our valued diagnostic display customers and remain committed to seeing them through this transition.”
The company will continue to support all diagnostic products sold through their warranty periods. For EMEA customers, the period is at least three years, respectively five years (warranty extension purchase) from the date of sale.
Our commitment to product innovation, market growth, channel development and our solutions strategy is stronger than ever. The NEC hospital-wide portfolio enables our partners to develop the perfect combinations of products and services for their clients. These solutions are backed by NEC Display’s reliability, and industry-leading services and support capabilities.
