Abu Dhabi, UAE, November 1, 2016: Healthpoint, the super-specialty destination hospital in Abu Dhabi, today announced that more than 146,000 patients registered during the first six months of the year, a 76 per cent increase on registrations during the same period in 2015. The public healthcare facility located at Zayed Sports City, part of Mubadala’s healthcare network, now averages between 1,000 and 1,200 patients each day across 21 clinical services.
Healthpoint, which opened just over three years ago, provides specialty patient-centric inpatient, outpatient and rehabilitative care and is home to four super-specialty practice areas: orthopedics, spine, bariatric, and plastics and cosmetics. Healthpoint also has three supporting departments onsite - laboratory and radiology services, and an outpatient pharmacy.
“The physicians and medical teams practicing in our super specialty clinical areas are world class experts in their respective fields. All of our healthcare practitioners tailor treatment and care around each individual patient’s condition and lifestyle, operating as one integrated and complementary practice unit to increase standards and efficacy.” says Dr Nader Darwich, Medical Director, Healthpoint.
In line with the growth in patient numbers, Healthpoint has expanded to provide for the most in demand clinical services – including a new bariatric center, increased gastroenterology services, and an expansion of the Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) clinic. The number of healthcare practitioners providing care at Healthpoint has also grown from 460 to 668, an increase of 31 per cent between 30th June 2015 and 30th September 2016.
In early September, Healthpoint also doubled its number of dentistry chairs from six to 12 in response to growing demand, and will soon be opening an expanded pharmacy. “These recent expansions are part of a longer term plan to increase the breadth, depth and scale of our facilities and services at Healthpoint,” says Dr Darwich.
“We are focused on responding to the needs of our communities by expanding existing departments and adding new specialties and clinical teams in direct response to patient demand. As we grow, we are fully focused on ensuring that we retain the things that have made us so popular, such as maintaining the ~40% market share we have achieved in inpatient musculoskeletal diseases, making us the largest provider of this service in Abu Dhabi. Our commitment to patient-centric care across all of our treatment areas and our reputation for service-led standards remains a primary focus for us.”
As a public healthcare facility, Healthpoint aims to provide superior full-cycle care that addresses the individual and complex needs of each patient. The boutique style hospital also provides luxury private rooms, valet parking, concierge services and a personal touch.
