Al-Futtaim Motors named Platinum Sponsor of Arab Traffic Week 2016

Dubai, UAE, April 18, 2016:  Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota, Lexus, Hino and Toyota Material Handling in the UAE, has been named Platinum Sponsor of the Arab Traffic Week 2016, taking place from April 17th until April 21st, at Dalma Mall, Abu Dhabi.

Held under the theme of “Your safety matters”, the event is organized by SAAED, the region’s leading traffic safety services organization providing sophisticated technology and innovative services to manage traffic accidents and road incidents, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

The initiative aims at shedding light on traffic safety and general awareness of the laws and regulations that govern the road, in turn creating safer roads and better drivers.

Yousuf Ali Al Raeesi, General Manager, Government Relations, Health Security, Safety and Environment at Al-Futtaim Motors, said: “Al-Futtaim Motors has a longstanding partnership with SAAED and Abu Dhabi Police, having worked together for years on increasing road safety awareness. Our goal is to significantly decrease the amount of road accidents by educating drivers on their duties while on the road, towards themselves as well as others. As a member of society, Al-Futtaim Motors is committed to working hand in hand with all concerned authorities to mitigate the number of road accidents through creative and engaging initiatives.”

Al-Futtaim Motors, has partnered with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Ministry of Interior, to distribute a total of 20,000 booklets entitled “Road Safety Starts Here”, which include road regulations and traffic laws, as part of the company’s strategy to educate drivers and road users on traffic safety.

In addition to lectures on traffic safety conducted by Abu Dhabi Police, the event promises fun activities including raffle draws, contests, kids’ activities, as well as art and stage performances revolving around traffic.
