Dubai, 9 March 2016: Weber Shandwick has been officially recognized as the 7th ‘Greatest Place to Work in the UAE’ 2016 rankings. The official list, which was announced during an awards ceremony on 8th March at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai, is a ranking of the nation’s best employers based on the confidential feedback of employees and an audit of management practices.
For the third year in a row, the agency’s continual effort to retain and grow a team of professionals and to foster a culture of innovation and professionalism have resulted in positive feedback from the company’s employees. Weber Shandwick hosts a diverse team of talented, collaborative, award winning, and creative PR consultants. Employees are provided with regular opportunities for self-development through learning and training sessions, access to leading online learning portals and one-on-one coaching. Weber Shandwick also recognizes its employees through its internal awards program, in addition to encouraging employees to engage in pro-bono work and run very competitive internal contests.
Commenting on the agency’s ranking for 2016, Ziad Hasbani, CEO of Weber Shandwick MENA, stated: “Our industry is centered on people, and we are fortunate to retain some of the market’s most talented and creative individuals. We greatly value our team, and appreciate the efforts they have invested in delivering top quality work for our clients, but also in growing our agency. We are always looking for opportunities to promote growth and knowledge transfer amongst our team and industry peers and leaders, and will continue to operate according to this strategy moving forward.”
Commenting on the Top Companies list, Maha Zaatari, Managing Director of Great Place to Work in the UAE, said: “Congratulations to all 20 companies that made it onto our 2016 list. The expansion of the 2016 list is testament to the value UAE companies place on human capital development. There is no doubt that this year’s competition was the toughest since we introduced the annual benchmarking program six years ago. The top 20 list makers truly understand how investing in their workplace cultures leads to stronger business and people performance within their organizations.”
Great Place to Work is a global research, training and consultancy firm that identifies the best workplaces in over 50 countries worldwide. To select the ‘Top Companies to Work for in the UAE’, Great Place to Work conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s proprietary Trust Index© survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management’s credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The other third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefits programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication, and development.
