Centro Sharjah Partners for Sharjah Used Book Fair

Dubai, UAE, February 27, 2016: Sharjah Used Book Fair, organised by Sharjah City of Humanitarian Services coincides with the ‘Declaration of the year of Reading ‘ by the president of U.A.E, HH Shaikh Khalifah bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The used book fair is aimed towards highlighting the significance of reading and the knowledge derived through it. By offering books at a very low price, the fair aims to encourage the cause and reinstate its slogan ‘treasure of knowledge’
Within this context Mr Michael Kasch, General Manager of Centro Sharjah said, “We are very honoured to be given this opportunity to contribute by serving for the betterment of our community” He further added, “As event partner our colleagues are accounting voluntary hours to help set up the event, we’re sponsoring daily meals for the event’s volunteers and have set up a raffle at the venue to encourage visitors to make a higher purchase by enticing them for a chance to win Centro Sharjah gift vouchers”.
The sixth edition of the Used Book Fair is held at Al Nakheel Park on Khalid Corniche, Sharjah from 23rd – 27th February. The five day event features more than 150,000 book titles having a price range from AED 3 to AED 20 with topics varying from literature, religion, history, science, fiction and many more. The funds raised from the fair will go towards the betterment of differently abled people.
Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) is a local non-profit organization founded in 1979 as a branch of the Arab Family Organization in the Gulf region, aiming to advance the Arab family and develop the social services it needs.
