Dubai, UAE – 12 August 2015: Governments are continuously relying on social media to communicate and engage with the public by utilising multiple channels, campaigns and different levels of voice tones, depending on the demography of their targeted audiences. However, there is an ongoing struggle to create high-quality content to maintain a constant engagement level.

Announcing the agenda, organisers of the GCC Government Social Media Summit (16 – 17 September 2015) confirmed that the summit will feature eight interactive two-day workshops and two opening sessions showcasing successful and award winning campaigns and expertise from multiple organisations and individuals.

Led by top social media influencers and experts from local and international government departments and service providers, the workshops will provide attendees with insights into the best methods governments can follow to enhance communication with their targeted audience and on various social media channels.

“There is no better way to gain experience and solid understanding than being part of or being exposed to real-life scenarios,” said Anna Atabekian, Project Manager, GCC Government Social Media Summit. “Therefore, we have made sure that the summit this year will include a series of practical workshops that have been strategically crafted to cover best practices and latest trends in government social media communication.”

The workshops have been designed to address the specifics of eight separate government sectors to ensure the most tailored experience for each delegate. The two-day workshops include: Social Media for local and federal government, healthcare, financial services, human resources, education, foreign affairs, and defence. Carefully selected world class facilitators will be addressing key challenges pertinent to each sector within the social media context.

Currently in its fourth year, the GCC Government Social Media Summit continues to be the most important, educational and business-driven social media platforms for the government sector in the MENA region.

The event is expected to attract over 250+ regional and international communications and social media experts, decision makers and executives from the government sector.
