Tom&Serg pledge support to the ultimate charity challenge
Dubai, UAE, 21 July 2015: One of Dubai’s favourite hotspots, Tom&Serg have partnered with three brave guys who will take part in the The Rickshaw Run – a 3,500km journey across India that sees nearly 100 teams take on the most dangerous obstacles in the world.
Conrad Theron, an advertising Copywriter living in Dubai, was searching for creative ways to be charitable with his brother Philip and their best friend Kevin. They discovered The Rickshaw Run, a rally famed for being the least sensible thing to do in four-weeks. Presented with all encumbered danger and treacherous roads, the four-week race sees the team battle a myriad of elements in order to complete the Run. Not least of which is to be done in a 7-horsepower rusty Rickshaw (Tuk Tuk), which has about as much power as the average household lawnmower.
Keen to raise awareness of their challenge (the proceeds of which will go to the well-known charity War Child) the team wanted to involve a credible, but enthusiastic brand with a strong following.
When asked why they chose Tom&Serg, Conrad said, “We really wanted to partner with someone who was as conscious as we are about giving back to people in need, and found genuine support from Tom&Serg. We’ve been huge fans since its opening and we are super lucky to have them backing us.”
Commenting on the partnership, Tom Arnel, founding partner of Tom&Serg said, “When the guys approached us, we immediately knew we’d like to be involved. It’s an incredibly brave challenge and we’re proud to be able to support them. We are all about giving back and this is such a great cause, which will genuinely make a difference to peoples’ lives.”
Sporting the team name Tom, Serg & The 22gs, the three brave guys will be heading over to the starting point in Shillong on 1 August. They will produce unprecedented access to the journey’s every kilometre through captivating pictures and film. Anyone can follow the expedition through the Tom&Serg social media channels where it will be shared.
