Bourn Hall Dubai sets out to educate couples who want to know more about IVF and Fertility Treatments
The inventors of IVF, Bourn Hall, have launched a new fertility awareness campaign aimed to help people understand more about their own fertility and the different tests and treatments available when facing infertility. Bourn Hall Clinic Dubai will host a series of free, monthly fertility seminars at their clinic where the doctors and embryologists will explain different procedures and discuss how the process works in the laboratory for those considering IVF treatments. There will also be the opportunity to tour the state of the art facility, which is a unique opportunity for couples to see behind the scenes what happens at a fertility and IVF clinic.
Dr David Robertson FRCOG, Group Medical Director at Bourn Hall Clinic, Dubai said: “our goal is to educate couples in the UAE on their journey towards parenthood both pre and post conception and this is not just limited to IVF. These fertility seminars will enable people to understand more about their own fertility, why getting pregnant can sometimes be difficult and the tests and treatments available, should they need them.’’
According to the World Health Organization, a couple is considered infertile if they have been trying to conceive for two years. Rates of infertility are on the rise and while one in seven couples face infertility in Europe it is around one in six in the MENA region. Contributing factors include diet, lifestyle, genetic factors, a high incidence of polycystic ovary syndrome and the effects of heat.
Bourn Hall’s fertility seminars will take place in the 22,000 sq ft Jumeirah clinic located in Al Hudaiba Awards Buildings, Block C, 2nd December Street from September 2013.
