SONG: Ariyah ft. JaiC - Our Home
Ariyah is an Australian singer, songwriter, recording artist, activist and philanthropist living in the United Arab Emirates. Growing up in Sydney Australia, Ariyah was enrolled in a music school when she was 8, where she began playing the piano. A rebellious student, Ariyah would ditch the books and spend her time composing her own music. The songwriter also wrote a lot of poetry, but it was not until the age of 15 that she started putting the words to the music and writing songs.
The singer embodied the will to help others even as a child, giving pocket money to the poor and fighting for the rights of animals. Today Ariyah is using her gift of music to help people in the region and around the globe. Ariyah’s writings are influenced by events going on around her, whether it’s personal experiences or the experiences of others, and also often writes about poverty, war and conflict. “Every story is a potential song” the singer laughs and says. She appreciates all types of music, stemming from classic rock, blues, 80’s and top 40, stating that she has been influenced by so many artists throughout her musical career. She mostly finds herself drawn towards the pop and rock genres, which is evident in her songwriting.
In recent years, Ariyah has grown in popularity in the region, performing with her band around Dubai, and earning the best female debut singer award at the World Top DJs Awards 2014 for her previous single, "The Club (DJ AKS Remix)". Ariyah is now due to release her new single ‘Our Home’ in June, a powerful song and video with a very strong social message promoting world peace and compassion towards all life.
