More than 50 Underprivileged Children Take Part in Special Iftar Event

Dial-A-Battery Sponsors ‘Gift of Giving’ Program to Provide Children with a Meaningful and Educational Evening

Dubai, United Arab Emirates; More than 50 underprivileged children took part in a ‘Gift of Giving’ iftar event, volunteered and sponsored by Dial-A-Battery and organised by Action Care, the UAE-based educational development organisation.

The ‘Cultures around the World’ themed iftar event brought children together from the Red Crescent Society as well as Al Hemam Training Centre in Ajman to engage the children in fun activities, games and a meaningful Ramadan themed drama.

“The holy month of Ramadan is traditionally the time for giving and gratitude, and is an opportunity to donate time to bring cheer and joy to those that need it most - our underprivileged children. Dial-A-Battery is happy to be able to contribute to our community in this way and provide children with a meaningful and educational evening through the Gift of Giving program,” said Asad Badami, Managing Director of Dial-A-Battery.

This year’s theme introduces children to ‘Cultures Around the World’ through drama, music, and interactive activities with elements such as giving and ‘sameness’ between people from around the world weaved into the story.

The event was held in the Movenpick hotel in Oud Metha, and involved active games including an obstacle course and piñatas, followed by an activity session engaging the children in creating a collage of countries from around the world. The children were given a gift of a school backpack containing a lunchbox, water bottle and stationary kits following the iftar.

Volunteers from Dial-A-Battery joined in to help prepare and serve the food to the children during the iftar event, as part of the company’s philosophy of contributing to the community it operates in and serves.
