The tip of the day for 16 October 2002
Freeze items to a better effect
Removing all air from plastic bags before freezing will help preserve flavor and appearance of their contents and will keep ice particles from forming. You can remove the air simply by scrunching up the end and putting a straw into the bag and sucking the air out. When you have got as much of the air out twist the top and seal. Brush fresh meat with olive oil before wrapping for the freezer to keep it moist and prevent any drying out.
