RAK Hospital offering free consultation with internationally renowned Pediatric Cardiologist at their Ramadan Clinic

June 25, 2015, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: Cases of heart diseases among infants have gained momentum with statistical evidence claiming congenital heart disease as the leading cause of death among newborns within the first year. Given the need to raise awareness among parents regarding the issue, RAK Hospital, is organizing a free pediatric cardiology consultation with renowned specialist Dr. Radhakrishnan as part of their annual Ramadan Clinic. The consultation is scheduled at the hospital for 27^th & 28^th June 2015 from 10am to 1pm.

Moreover, in line with its practice of serving the people of UAE, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, RAK Hospital has also set up free registration and free consultation sessions at their facility. Ramadan Clinic will be open to visitors between 25^th June and 16^th July from 8:30 pm to11pm throughout Ramadan.

The free pediatric sessions are all the more relevant for children born in the UAE since experts believe that their cases are more complex compared to the rest of the world and early diagnosis is the key to saving lives. Cardiac disorders in children sometimes find roots prior to their birth and in other cases they develop in later years due to various factors including genetics and acquired diseases.

This is why it is imperative that all newborns should undergo heart-screening to catch the defects early,” says Dr. Radhakrishnan who is a senior consultant at RAK Hospital. The pediatric cardiologist has more than 32 years of experience in the field, with footprints in UAE, South Asia and the UK and several awards and orations to his name including ISC Oration in 2010. An active member of global pediatric cardiologist community, Dr. Radhakrishnan has also authored more than 500 articles in Indexed Journals, hundreds of abstracts and over 20 chapters in books.
