The Role We are looking for a capable and trustworthy Senior Kitchen Technician to join our team in Doha, Qatar and ensure everything runs smoothly in the kitchen. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen appliances to keep our operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct routine maintenance on all refrigeration equipment, including walk-in freezers and coolers. - Identify and resolve problems with temperature control, compressors, leaks, and other refrigeration system failures. - Repair and replace malfunctioning parts for refrigeration systems. - Keep cold rooms clean and hygienic while adhering to safety and health requirements. - Ensure cold rooms operate efficiently to reduce energy use. - Install, maintain, and repair ovens, fryers, grills, ranges, and other cooking appliances. - Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with culinary appliances, both gas and electric. - Calibrate thermostats and ensure temperature controls are operating correctly. - Continuously assess and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. - Repair leaks and maintain copper piping systems connected to kitchen appliances. - Install new copper piping for equipment when required. - Ensure plumbing rules and regulations are followed. - Undertake preventative maintenance on all kitchen appliances to avoid malfunctions. - Troubleshoot and fix minor electrical problems with kitchen equipment (excluding major electrical systems). - Replace broken parts to ensure equipment operates safely and effectively. - Maintain a tidy and well-organized workspace. - Reduce kitchen downtime and respond quickly to equipment emergencies.
Requirements - Diploma or Bachelors degree in engineering or a relevant technical field. - Minimum 7 years of experience as a kitchen technician or in a similar role. - Strong knowledge of the upkeep, repair, and operation of refrigeration systems. - Familiarity with refrigerated rooms and hygiene standards. - Understanding of the features and functions of various kitchen appliances. - Ability to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. - Knowledge of copper plumbing systems for kitchen use is preferred. - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
