The Role About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead marine construction projects involving dredging, GRP pipeline installation, and intake tower structures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overall project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring compliance with client requirements, international standards, and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Execution: Oversee the full project lifecycle including tendering, planning, execution, monitoring, and handover Manage dredging operations including capital and maintenance dredging, reclamation, and material disposal Supervise installation of GRP pipelines including trenching, pipe laying, jointing, lamination, and backfilling in marine environments Lead construction of intake towers including piling, structural concrete, mechanical and electrical installations, and marine outfall structures Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts; ensure cost control Prepare, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project Coordinate with design engineers, surveyors, marine superintendents, and subcontractors for seamless project execution Manage client relations and ensure client satisfaction; attend progress meetings and present updates Ensure all project activities comply with local and international codes, standards, and regulations (ISO, BS, ASTM, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL) Manage subcontractors including dredging companies, pipeline installation specialists, and civil contractors Procure equipment, materials, and subcontractor services as required Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies Enforce strict HSE compliance across all project activities Prepare and submit regular progress reports, cost reports, and risk assessments to senior management Lead, mentor, and motivate the project team including engineers, supervisors, and site staff Negotiate contracts, change orders, and variations with clients and subcontractors Manage project documentation including method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and as-built drawings Oversee project close-out including final inspections, documentation, and handover to client Ensure successful completion of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including hydrotesting, pressure testing, and flushing
Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred) Minimum 10-15 years of experience in project management of marine construction projects Proven experience in dredging, GRP pipeline installation, and intake tower/outfall structure construction Strong knowledge of international standards and guidelines for marine structures, pipelines, and dredging (PIANC, IMO, ISO, BS, AWWA M45, ISO 14692) Experience in FIDIC, NEC, or other standard contract forms and commercial management Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project for scheduling and project controls Valid safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) Offshore survival certificates (BOSIET/HUET) if required Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred Required Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making abilities Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Commercial awareness for budgeting and contract management Technical knowledge of dredging, pipeline installation, and marine concrete works Ability to manage multiple aspects of projects including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning Problem-solving and risk management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Team collaboration with engineering, operations, and HSE teams
