The Role
1. Position Overview • The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for the complete electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability assurance of all equipment installed at the Zero Waste processing facility. The role requires hands-on capability to independently execute preventive and corrective maintenance, support new machine installation and commissioning, and ensure safe operation of LV, MV, and HV electrical systems. • The facility includes shredders, crushers, extruders, balers, trommel screens, conveyors, granulators, separators, and auxiliary processing equipment, all integrated with PLC/SCADA-based automation and plant monitoring systems. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance • Execute preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical systems across the plant. • Inspect, test, and maintain motors, drives, control panels, MCCs, switchgear, and power distribution systems. • Diagnose and repair faults in LV, MV, and HV panels, ensuring minimal downtime. • Maintain electrical components of shredders, crushers, extruders, balers, trommel screens, conveyors, and other processing equipment. B. Installation & Commissioning • Support installation, wiring, and commissioning of new machines and electrical systems. • Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and OEM manuals. • Coordinate with OEMs and contractors during commissioning and acceptance testing. C. Automation & Controls • Basic understanding of PLC logic, SCADA systems, sensors, relays, VFDs, and control loops. • Perform field diagnostics on instrumentation and control wiring. D. Safety & Compliance • Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, DIC, and Zero Waste HSE standards. • Perform lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance. • Maintain documentation of electrical inspections, breakdown reports, and maintenance logs. E. Operational Support • Provide technical support during plant start-up, shutdown, and emergencies. • Coordinate with mechanical, operations, and production teams to ensure smooth plant functioning. • Identify opportunities for electrical system improvements and reliability enhancements.

Requirements
3. Required Qualifications • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in industrial plants, preferably waste management, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy processing facilities. • Strong hands-on capability — must be able to execute work independently without supervision. 4. Required Skills & Competencies • Solid knowledge of industrial electrical systems, switchgear, MCCs, and power distribution. • Experience with motors, VFDs, soft starters, hydraulic and pneumatic control circuits. • Ability to troubleshoot PLC/SCADA-based systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent). • Familiarity with extruders, shredders, crushers, balers, trommel screens, and similar equipment. • Strong understanding of electrical safety, arc-flash protection, and HV/LV isolation procedures. • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs. • Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. 5. Personal Attributes • Reliable, disciplined, and safety-focused. • Problem-solver with strong analytical skills. • Able to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns. • Team player with a proactive approach to plant reliability. 6. Additional Requirements • Willingness to work in shifts if required. • Physically fit to work in industrial plant environments. • Experience in waste management or recycling facilities is an advantage.
