The Role Machine Learning Engineer Location: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, UAE (Hybrid) Contract Duration: Initial 6-Month Contract with possibility of extension Employment Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor About the Role We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our team on an initial 6-month freelance contract. This is a hybrid role offering a combination of onsite and remote work. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning solutions that support key business initiatives. This opportunity offers the potential for extension beyond the initial contract period, subject to project requirements and performance. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning models and AI solutions. • Build and maintain end-to-end machine learning pipelines for data ingestion, training, testing, and deployment. • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions. • Optimize machine learning models to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. • Implement MLOps best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. • Work with large datasets to extract insights and improve model effectiveness. • Develop APIs and services to support machine learning applications in production environments. • Ensure data quality, model accuracy, and compliance with organizational standards. • Troubleshoot issues related to model performance and deployment. • Stay up to date with emerging AI and machine learning technologies.
Requirements Required Skills & Experience • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. • 4+ years of experience in Machine Learning Engineering, AI Development, or related roles. • Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Keras. • Experience building and deploying machine learning models in production environments. • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and development best practices. • Experience with SQL and data processing technologies. • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments. • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and MLOps methodologies. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • Ability to work independently in a freelance consulting environment. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI solutions. • Experience with Databricks, Spark, or other big data technologies. • Knowledge of model monitoring, governance, and Responsible AI practices. • Experience working in enterprise-scale environments. • Previous experience delivering projects within the UAE or GCC region.
