The Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Participate in project bidding, feasibility studies, cost analysis, basic design, detailed design, and engineering management for industrial sector (specifically in water treatment and desalination) and marine sector projects. 2. Support business development activities, including technical proposal preparation, bills of quantities (BOQs), tender drawings compilation and pre-bid technical consultation for new potential projects. 3. Develop and formulate geological investigation programs; independently review geotechnical investigation reports issued by third parties and deliver formal technical comments, engineering recommendations and optimisation measures. 4. Supervise and coordinate third-party geotechnical site investigation, including site reconnaissance, drilling layout planning, borehole logging, in-situ field testing (SPT, CPT, Plate Load Test), sampling management, and testing laboratories for geomechanical laboratory testing. 5. Perform comprehensive geotechnical analysis and engineering design, covering shallow and deep foundation design, piled foundation optimisation, soil improvement, dewatering system design, retaining structure calculation, slope stability analysis and settlement prediction, with full consideration of local complex geological conditions. 6. Carry out technical review of contractor submittals, construction method statements and third-party geotechnical reports; provide professional technical comments, optimisation solutions and technical approval opinions. 7. Provide professional geotechnical consultancy, maintain efficient communication and coordination with clients, design consultants, main contractors and local government authorities, and attend regular technical review meetings. 8. Provide on-site geotechnical construction supervision and technical support, monitor foundation construction, piling works and ground improvement implementation progress; identify construction risks, handle geotechnical emergencies and solve complex on-site technical difficulties. 9. Communicate and coordinate efficiently with internal teams, clients, main contractors, subcontractors, third-party consultants and local government authorities; attend regular technical meetings, progress meetings and design review meetings, and issue official technical correspondence. 10. Carry out technical research, scheme optimisation and technical verification for soil improvement and treatment works (including dynamic compaction, vibro compaction, stone column, preloading and grouting treatment, etc.) applicable to local desert and coastal soil. 11. Assume responsibility for guiding and cultivating young engineering professionals. 12. Responsible for the development and preparation of specialized, standardized documentation and calculation sheets across bidding, basic design, and detailed design phases, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards.

Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field. 2. Minimum 8 years of geotechnical engineering working experience, especially in the MENA region. 3. Proficient in Gulf local codes, ASTM, BS, Eurocode and international geotechnical specifications. Understanding of seismic design requirements for the MENA region. 4. Demonstrated experience in independently completing bidding, basic design, and detailed design for industrial projects, including: • Expert in support system design for deep or large-scale excavation pits and slope stability analysis (natural slopes, embankments, cut slopes). • Expert in developing soil treatment strategies based on geological survey reports (covering various methods such as dynamic compaction, cast-in-place piles, precast piles, CFG piles, and cement-soil mixing piles), and, in soft soil conditions, effectively addressing the impact of post-construction settlement. • Proficiency in deep excavation & shoring design, dewatering, and groundwater control in high-water-table areas. • Proficiency in design of shallow foundations (strip, pad, raft) and deep foundations (bored piles, driven piles, micropiles, barrettes). • Proficiency in pile capacity analysis, pile driveability, settlement calculation, and liquefaction assessment. • Experienced in design of trench excavation, bedding, backfill, and soil treatment for buried pipelines, including special considerations for soft soil, rock, and variable ground conditions. • know of the design and coordination of pipeline crossings, including raods/railways/river. 5. Strong communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities, with the capability to perform effectively in multicultural and high-pressure environments. 6. Passionate about the water industry and committed to professional excellence. 7. Proficiency in PLAXIS 2D/3D, GeoStudio, Settle3, AutoCAD, borehole logging software and office data analysis tools. Experience with 3D numerical modelling and FEM analysis is a strong plus.
