The Role The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the Director Supply Chain in overseeing all warehouse operations across UAE. The role ensures efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods while maintaining high standards of safety, inventory accuracy, and compliance with ISO 9001, HSE, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and related regulations. The post holder also coordinates device management, e-commerce fulfilment, and customer service activities, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Warehouse Management Supervise warehouse operations, aligning with company policies and vision. Assist in developing warehouse layouts for space optimization. Ensure smooth receiving, warehousing, and distribution functions. Enforce SOPs, policies, and compliance with all relevant legislation. Inventory & Operations Management Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP and cycle counts. Oversee inbound/outbound activities, ensuring FIFO/FEFO practices. Address slow-moving, obsolete, and expired inventory. Coordinate with procurement for optimal stock levels. Device & Asset Management Oversee storage and handling of devices (dispensers, diffusers, sanitizers, etc.). Support in-house repair/maintenance operations. Ensure availability of device parts and supervise proper disposal/write-offs. People & Performance Management Support recruitment, training, and supervision of warehouse staff. Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback. Ensure compliance with labour laws and HSE requirements. Warehouse Maintenance & Safety Maintain clean, organized, and safe facilities. Conduct regular inspections and ensure equipment maintenance. Implement corrective actions from audits and safety checks. Compliance & Auditing Ensure full adherence to ISO, HSE, Dubai Municipality, DIC, and Civil Defense standards. Prepare for and support internal and external audits. E-commerce & Customer Service Support Coordinate e-commerce order fulfilment and product returns. Liaise with marketing to address slow-moving/expiring stock. Support sales and customer service teams in resolving delivery-related issues. ERP & Reporting Maintain ERP/WMS accuracy for warehouse data. Generate reports on KPIs (order accuracy, inventory turnover, OTIF, stock aging). Provide insights and recommendations for process improvement. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency gains, and process optimization. Stay updated with industry trends and implement best practices.
Requirements Academic Qualifications Minimum: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred: Masters degree or certifications (CIPM, CSCP, CLTD). Years of Experience Minimum 710 years in warehouse/distribution management. At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Nature of Experience FMCG and/or chemicals trading warehouse operations. ERP/WMS operations, compliance with ISO & HSE standards. Team leadership across multi-shift, high-volume environments. Other Skills / requirement Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in ERP (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or Business Central) and MS Office. Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is an advantage. Ability to work under pressure, including weekends/holidays as needed.
