The Role Guildhall is seeking a Procurement Engineer with proven experience in high-rise building projects for an iconic construction project in Dubai. The Procurement Engineer will liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to procure materials for the project, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with technical specifications, and cost efficiency. Role & Responsibilities: Identify recommended suppliers/manufacturers based on project specifications for every product. Obtain multiple quotations for each item based on quantities provided by the Quantity Surveying (QS) department. Evaluate quotations and technical data sheets, then submit them to QA/QC for approval by the consultant. Follow up with suppliers/manufacturers on any clarifications requested by the consultant. Negotiate final offers post-consultant approval and place orders based on final quantities. Coordinate with Finance for payment methods (LC or other) and with Planning for delivery schedules. Liaise with suppliers/manufacturers for shipping, delivery, and timely arrival of materials on site. Identify and propose equivalent cost-effective products for approval if suitable. Supervise and guide junior buyers and oversee local procurement operations. Maintain high proficiency in computerized monitoring and reporting software, including Primavera or MS Project.
Requirements Candidate Profile: Engineering Degree in any discipline (Civil or related preferred). Minimum 810 years UAE experience in procurement within the construction industry. Strong technical or engineering background is an advantage. Experienced in sourcing materials from the international market. Knowledgeable in handling Letters of Credit (LC) and shipping procedures. Capable of monitoring junior buyers and managing local procurement operations. Excellent written and spoken English. Proficient in computerized monitoring/reporting tools (Primavera or MS Project).
