The Role We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Lead with extensive tunneling experience and expertise in Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This pivotal role involves overseeing environmental compliance, managing sustainability initiatives, and ensuring that all tunneling activities meet UAE regulatory standards within our infrastructure projects. Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans for tunneling projects involving TBM operations. - Ensure compliance with UAE environmental regulations and international best practices throughout project phases. - Conduct environmental impact assessments and coordinate with stakeholders to mitigate any potential risks. - Lead environmental audits and prepare reports to update management and regulatory bodies. - Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineering teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution. - Manage environmental documentation, permits, and approvals relevant to tunneling operations. - Promote a culture of environmental awareness and sustainability among project teams and subcontractors. - Provide technical guidance and training on environmental issues related to tunneling and construction activities.
Requirements - Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental management within tunneling or underground infrastructure projects. - Proven knowledge and experience with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations and associated environmental challenges. - Familiarity with UAE environmental laws and regulations specific to construction and tunneling. - Strong analytical and risk assessment skills with the ability to develop effective mitigation strategies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. - Professional certifications related to environmental management (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 14001) are preferred. - Ability to work independently and lead environmental initiatives in a fast-paced project environment.
