The Role JOB PURPOSE The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial management of the Ghuwaifat Project by preparing cost estimates, measuring and valuing completed works, and managing interim payment certificates and variations. The role supports contract administration and procurement processes to safeguard the projects commercial position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepare accurate cost estimates for project works, variations, and change orders. • Measure and value completed works on site in accordance with contract terms and the bill of quantities. • Prepare and process interim payment applications and certificates for the project and subcontractors. • Prepare, submit, and negotiate variation claims and change order valuations. • Support contract administration activities, including review of contract terms and correspondence. • Support procurement processes by providing cost input for material and subcontract packages. • Maintain accurate cost records, forecasts, and reports for project management review. • Reconcile subcontractor accounts and support final account preparation and close-out. • Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities to project and commercial management. • Coordinate with site, planning, and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely commercial data.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. • 5–8 years of quantity surveying experience on construction or infrastructure projects. • Strong knowledge of measurement standards, contract administration, and payment processes. • Experience with FIDIC or similar contract forms is preferred. • UAE project experience is an advantage. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail. • Proficiency in measurement, cost estimation, and commercial reporting. • Proficiency in MS Excel and cost management/ERP systems. • Strong negotiation and contract administration skills. • Effective communication and coordination across commercial, site, and procurement teams.
