DUBAI- June 16, 2014: Alerton, US-based building automation and control systems pioneer, a part of global technology and manufacturing leader Honeywell International, has launched its new Ascent Building Management System in the UAE. The innovative solution is developed to help building owners better monitor and manage their heating and cooling related energy use.
The new Ascent system will be distributed through Bahri & Mazroei Technical Systems (BMTS), UAE’s leading buildings systems' integrator under Bahri & Mazroei Group - the leading solutions provider in the Gulf catering to building and infra-development segments.
Alerton is an industry leader in the US in manufacturing building automation and management solutions for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment for all types and sizes of structures. It was the first to offer a complete product line based on BACnet, the building industry standard for open system interoperability. BMTS is the market leader in the UAE in providing a wide range of high-quality value-added technical solutions with engineering, integration and maintenance services to technically-superior buildings and infrastructure.
Commenting on the launch of Ascent solution in the UAE, Mr. Dilip Sinha- Regional General Manager of Honeywell ECC, said: “We rolled out the new Ascent Building Management System globally. We are happy to introduce this solution in the Dubai and Northern Emirates market along with BMTS, which is part of our global independent dealer network to provide solid service and support that is second to none.”
“The Ascent is an easy-to-use and flexible automation Building Management System, which is suitable for a single building or an entire campus. The system is the first to combine in a single controller the industry standard BACnet protocol and Tridium’s Niagara Framework for more effective integration of multiple building systems,” he added.
Speaking about the innovative solution, Mr. Esam R. Al Mazroei- Managing Director of the Bahri & Mazroei Group, said, “We are pleased to promote Alerton’s Ascent building management system in the UAE. This innovative solution is developed to provide unparalleled potential for monitoring and controlling numerous building systems from a single platform, which allows us to cater to our target customer group.”
Mr. Sivakumar Subramanian, General Manager of BMTS, added: “Being a pioneer in buildings system integration in the Gulf region, we partner with a host of world-renowned brands and bring to the table quality products, solutions and services. Our commitment to quality, reliability and safety is reflected in the fact that we are regularly chosen as a preferred system integrator by the region’s biggest contractors. BMTS has undertaken a multitude of successful projects in the field of building automation and management solutions in the Gulf region.”
“BMTS have supplied Alerton BMS Systems on a number of jobs including the Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, Opus Tower in Dubai, Oris Santuary Hotel, TGF Hotel in Marina Region, Metro Central Hotel, Limitless, Ibn Battuta Mall and Business Village,” he added.
The Ascent system is comprised of three products designed from the ground-up for ease of use and consistency across control systems: Ascent Microset 4 wall sensor; Ascent Control Module global controller; and Ascent Compass software. The product suite is designed to simplify monitoring and control of HVAC systems, and will offer an open protocol for integration with other building systems, including lighting; security/access control; fire and life safety; elevators and escalators; irrigation; and specialized needs such as emergency and critical systems monitoring in hospitals, and tenant billing for leased spaces in office buildings.
The launch of the Ascent platform represents synergies between Alerton, which simplified building management by integrating fire, life safety, lighting, access management and other building systems with their proven solutions in thousands of buildings around the world; and the Bahri and Mazroei Group-a one-stop-shop for a range of value-added solutions for all categories of buildings and infrastructure development projects.
Bahri & Mazroei Trading Company (BMTC) is the trading arm of the Group catering to the construction sector with solutions in the areas of electrical, lighting and water systems.
