Deira City Centre presents a special calligraphy display of the most esteemed art form in the Islamic world

Showcases ‘Art of Calligraphy' from July 22nd to August 3rd
Dubai, UAE; July 22, 2013 – Deira City Centre will showcase expressions of contemporary artists that depicts Islamic faith and culture through ‘Art of Calligraphy' Exhibition. Held in partnership with Glory Art Gallery, about 12 artworks from several established artists will be displayed in the LOVE Art gallery at the Metro Link from July 22nd until August 3rd.
In Addition, Glory Art Gallery will be donating 20% of the sales of the artworks displayed in the mall to Dubai Foundation for Women and children.
The ‘Art of Calligraphy' Exhibition features inspirational art pieces of M.A. Buhkahri, a Pakistan national whose impasto textural calligraphic technique have become well known in the local and international market. Gaining spiritual satisfaction through writing verses, Bukhari's creations are a mix of modern art with cultural and religious values.
Embracing the Ramadan spirit, Deira City Centre is also taking part in Majid Al Futtaim Properties' region-wide charity initiative. With ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan' campaign, shoppers can donate essential items including clothing, books, reading glasses and mobile phones, which will then be donated to underprivileged families through Red Crescent. In addition, the mall is adorned with decorative ornaments with arabic motifs and oversized lanterns on display providing a perfect photo opportunity.
