A growing number of international materials handling companies and logistics service providers are interested in doing business in the countries of the GCC region. This is underlined by their increased presence at the region's leading trade event for the materials handling and supply chain industry, Materials Handling Middle East 2013.
Organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt is expecting the majority of the major players to be represented at Materials Handling Middle East 2013 which will take place from 10th to 12th September at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. They also announced a significant increase in representation from key countries.
“With the Middle East gaining in stature as a leading market for the materials handling and supply chain industries, Materials Handling Middle East 2013 is seeing a growing amount of international interest,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “This year's exhibition will see stronger representation from leading European and Asian players as well as a greater emphasis on the latest technological innovations that are set to alter the way the industry does business today,” he said.
The German Pavilion at Materials Handling Middle East 2013 will experience a five fold increase since the last edition in 2011 and will feature some of the major players in the market including Euroroll Beckmann, Schenker Deutschland, SSI Schaefer, Unitechnik Cieplik & Poppek AG and the VDMA.
SSI Schaefer is expecting to make a big impact with their state-of-the-art Picking Technology which they are showcasing for the very first time in the region. They will also showcase an ergonomic picking station with a performance of more than 1,000 picks per hour.
"We are looking forward to our participation at this year's Materials Handling Middle East, as it forms a good platform for our industry in the region. As such it is a crucial part of our regional strategy and we are pleased about meeting our existing clients as well as making new contacts during the exhibition," said Matthias However, General Manager from SSI Schaefer Middle East and Africa.
The Chinese Pavilion will also be considerably larger than last time around. This year a number of logistics and cargo handling companies will showcase their products in the pavilion which will be 2.5 times larger than at the previous edition.
