Dubai, July 8, 2013: Lamcy Plaza, part of Lal's Group, celebrates the Holy Month of Ramadan with its almsgiving ‘Tree of Life' campaign. The campaign kick starts on the first day of the Ramadan and goes on for the whole month.
Lamcy Plaza has tied up with Red Crescent Society to initiate a charity drive during the Ramadan month. Red Crescent will organize a booth in the Atrium area on the Ground Floor of Lamcy Plaza with a member from the Society to help and guide the customers. People are requested to come forward and donate at the booth for the needy people and help them during this holy time. Customers can donate money at the booth in the form of food, clothing, orphanage, etc. Available at the booth are various coupons, and depending on the donors preference they can help the needy and poor by paying for those coupons.
Post the donation made at the Red Crescent Donation Booth, the shoppers will light a lantern and hang it at the tree placed next to the donation booth called ‘Tree of Life'. Light signifies life and this contribution will signify the light that the donors are bringing in the life of the less fortunate people.
Lamcy Plaza has gone an extra mile to give back to the society by joining hands with DP World which in conjunction with Dubai Health Authority will provide mobile vans outside the mall for people to donate blood. The blood donated at this camp will be sent to Blood Donation Centers in Dubai. The blood donation camp will take place between 8.30pm to 12.30am.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tim Jones, COO, Lamcy Plaza said, “Lamcy Plaza is delighted to join hands with Red Crescent Society during the Holy Month of Ramadan and be able to serve a noble cause. We are making our shoppers feel good for any contribution they make during this one month
by lighting the lamp of life .We are running charity programs so as to help the less fortunate people and be able to help the ones in need. Ramadan being the period of giving, we request the residents of Dubai to come forward and help us in making some difference for the people who need our help the most.”
