MediaTek to Showcase Cutting-Edge Smartphone, Tablet and IOT Technologies at GITEX Technology Week 2016

MediaTek, a pioneering fabless semiconductor company and market leader in cutting-edge systems-on-chip (SoC), will take part in GITEX Technology Week 2016 and showcase an array of its cutting edge smartphone, tablet and IOT technologies. This marks MediaTek’s third year at the region’s largest IT industry event, where it will highlight a wide range of its chipsets along with their underlying technologies and multimedia experiences. 

“GITEX is a great opportunity for MediaTek to demonstrate its innovative chipset technology including features like Imagiq and MiraVision that deliver unparalleled user experiences to help Mobile device makers differentiate their products,” said Rami Osman, MediaTek’s Director of Corporate Sales for MEA.” He added that MediaTek is supporting regional Smartphone brands to test and validate their LTE-Advanced handsets on regional carriers’ networks with VoLTE being one of the most important features that is available on all of MediaTeks’ LTE platforms.

MediaTek will showcase smartphones from various brands running MediaTek’s chipsets featuring several of its newest flagship system-on-chip (SOC) platforms including the Helio X25, Helio X20 and Helio P10 as well as its most efficient LTE Cat 4 and Cat 6 solutions MT6737 and MT6750 respectively. On the IOT front, MediaTek will introduce its WiFi/BT/GSM development kits for IOT and wearables, MT2502 and MT7688.

Unique MediaTek technologies to be demonstrated include:
• Imagiq - MediaTek’s image signal processor (ISP) is a complete, internally-developed solution for the company’s Helio family of high-end smartphone chipsets. This advanced ISP is designed to meet increasing demand for high-end multimedia features on mobility products. Imagiq integrates a number of advanced imaging technologies and photography features, fully leveraging dual camera design, significantly enhancing image quality and videography experiences. This allows Smartphone users to capture professional photos and videos easily, opening up wonderful possibilities of uncompromising photography.
• MiraVision – The world’s most comprehensive suite of display picture quality technologies for MediaTek’s smartphone and tablet platforms. It is a joint hardware and software suite that empowers handset and tablet makers to provide the best visual quality on mobile platforms and offers them reduced time to market, simplified product development, and differentiation for consumers.
• BluLight Defender - An SOC built-in blue light filter that protects viewers’ eyes while saving more power than conventional software applications. The technology is designed to reduce the amount of Blue Light energy output from the screen display, while still maintaining near-natural image color quality.

MediaTek will be at Hall 2, Booth E2-5, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai, UAE. Senior management will be present from 16th to 20th October 2016.
