One of the few Emirati B2B companies to win the Superbrand award and Great Place to Work® recognition in the same year
Dubai, UAE, July 25th, 2016: Dulsco, a regional stalwart in human resource and waste management solutions, has won the Superbrand award for the second consecutive year. Dulsco is the only waste management company and HR solution providers in the region to be awarded the Superbrand status. More than 2,000 prominent brands in the UAE competed for the Superbrands title, however, only 62 made it to the final list.
Earlier in the year, Dulsco was also recognised for the 4th time by Great Place to Work® Institute, a global research, training and consultancy firm as one of the top companies to work for in the UAE.
“Dulsco is one of the very few Emirati B2B brands to enter the Superbrands list this year for the second consecutive year. We have continued to build the brand in a responsible way by focusing on our CSR efforts. This reiterates our vision and values of social contribution and environmental awareness and giving back to the society,” said S. Balakumar, Managing Director, Dulsco.
“As a Superbrand, Dulsco is among an elite few that have successfully achieved iconic status. These brands have created a strong and powerful identity, working hard to far exceed brand promises to both clients and employees. The organisation has effectively leveraged the power that a single brand identity can bring and alongside this has developed meaningful relationships and loyalty with clients across the Emirates. This is an achievement for every Dulsco employee to be proud of and continue to strive towards,” said Alex Bibi, Brand Liaison Director for Superbrands.
Dulsco was set up in 1935 as a stevedoring company. During its initial years of operation, the company used to provide stevedoring services to ships at the anchorage and barges. The company started providing various categories of manpower services through the eighties. Soon, Dulsco had matured into one of the UAE’s most significant provider of human resource solutions. While stevedoring continues to be the core business, Dulsco today operates as a full service HR solutions and waste management services provider with employee strength of over 12,000 employees.
“Following a strict deliberation and voting process by the UAE Superbrands Council and industry stalwarts, the Superbrand recognition has further strengthened Dulsco’s position in the marketplace. Dulsco has come a long way and the company’s journey – from ‘brand’ to ‘super brand’ through its vision, values and achievements continues to inspire our employees, clients, partners and everyone to rise to even greater heights than before and, as a result, co-create the next chapter in the spectacular evolution of the region,” added Balakumar.
The Superbrands organization is an internationally-renowned authority and arbiter of branding excellence. The Superbrand program shortlists promising awardees based on three criteria: quality, distinction, and reliability, along with measuring factors like market dominance, public relations, longevity, customer loyalty, brand visibility, market acceptance, among other parameters.
In 2015, Dubai Chamber awarded Dulsco with the CSR Label as a public nod to the company’s commitment and proactive role in being a responsible corporate citizen.
