Arbor Networks Inc., the security division of NETSCOUT (NASDAQ: NTCT), announced today that Network Products Guide, the industry's leading technology research and advisory guide, has named Arbor Cloud a gold winner in the 2016 IT World Awards® for Best Security Services. Arbor Networks was also honored with a silver award for Best Overall IT Company of the Year.
An annual achievements and recognition awards program with active participation from a broad spectrum of industry voices, the IT World Awards honor the world’s best in organizational performance, products and services, hot technologies, executives and management teams, successful deployments, product management and engineering, customer satisfaction, and public relations in every area of information technology. Winners from all over the world were recognized during a red carpet awards ceremony in San Francisco on June 27, 2016.
“DDoS attacks are the primary threat to the availability of networks and online services. Arbor Cloud delivers protection against all forms of DDoS attacks, from the application-layer to the cloud. With the Arbor Cloud service, customers can get the protection their business requires without taking on the burden of deploying and operationalizing the solution itself. That is a very attractive solution for most business today who are dealing with already overwhelmed and understaffed security and network teams,” said Arbor Networks Chief Security & Technology Officer Sam Curry.
Gold Award – Best Security Services for Arbor Cloud v2.0
Arbor Cloud is a fully managed distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection service that can be leveraged for cloud-only or industry-accepted best practice hybrid defense that tightly integrates on-premise and cloud-based mitigation.
Arbor Cloud’s on-premise component—powered by Arbor Networks® APS—delivers visibility into traffic entering the enterprise network, providing DDoS attack detection and mitigation. Arbor Cloud offers transparency of operation, including providing a view into blocked hosts and even packets, offering the flexibility enterprises need to alter attack countermeasures and thresholds. The on-premise APS device can “Cloud Signal” the Arbor Cloud to prepare for and begin traffic scrubbing when volumes reach a particular bandwidth threshold.
Arbor Cloud helps protect enterprises against DDoS attacks, including volumetric, application-layer, state-exhaustion (e.g., targeting firewall/IPS), blended and multi-vector DDoS attacks. Arbor Cloud is staffed by Arbor DDoS mitigation experts and operates a 24/7 security operations center.
Silver Award – Best Overall IT Company of the Year
What separates Arbor Networks from other security vendors is how the company leverages its service provider footprint to benefit all customers. Arbor’s Active Threat Level Analysis System (ATLAS®), is a collaborative project with more than 330 service provider customers that have agreed to share anonymous traffic data totaling 140Tbps. ATLAS is one of the world’s largest globally-scoped threat analysis systems. From this unique vantage point, Arbor is ideally positioned to deliver intelligence about DDoS, advanced threats, malware and botnets that threaten internet infrastructure and network availability. Arbor customers enjoy a unique combination of a micro view of their own network traffic combined with a macro view of global internet traffic.
