Bringing together key players across the concrete industry’s value chain, the first day of Green Concrete UAE has successfully ended. Held at The Oberoi Hotel in Dubai, UAE, this event focuses on leveraging on sustainable concrete to reduce carbon emission and increase lifecycles of future projects across the UAE.
A large number of exciting presentations were delivered today among which we can mention: “Using ecofriendly cementitious material for sustainable concrete in Dubai” by Eng. Fadel S. AbuShaban from Dubai Municipality, “Future Proofing Cities: The Role of BIM in Sustainable Concrete Assessment” by Simon Nummy and Toufik Jabbour, from Atkins, and “Rheological Properties Optimization – A Key Component in Holistic Design of Eco-SCC” by Dr. Kamal Khayat, from Missouri University of Science and Technology USA.
The Director of Unibeton stated “Green Concrete UAE was a useful conference with relevant information and up to date discussions that are rather practical and functional, than academic”.
The response to this event was hugely positive as delegates and sponsors enjoyed the high quality of the speaker panel as well as the opportunities to network with the industry’s key decision makers. “The conference addressed a very important and timely subject for the construction industry and gathered a team of experts from local and international bodies that are key players in shaping the future of concrete industry. Great event!” said Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni representing CIOB.
The COO of Star Cement confirmed: “this conference has created awareness towards green buildings and sustainability”.
Green Concrete UAE – Day 2 will host speakers from Abu Dhabi Municipality, American University in Dubai, American University of Sharjah, KEO International Consultants, Samsung C&T and many more organizations and will be discussing the latest updates and case studies in the concrete industry with 3 roundtables not to be missed!
