The facial communication workshop will help participants enhance their face-to-face interactions with the use of 'emojis' breaking down cultural barriers in international communication

Dubai, 31 March 2015 – The use of ‘emoji' has transformed how we communicate in the digital world. Texting, chatting and tweeting have become increasingly fun, visual and lively with the use of ‘emojis'. Emoji originated in Japan and literally translates into a picture character. Emerging research indicates that our mood changes when we see certain emojis. When that happens, we alter our facial expressions, and subconsciously, we match the
emotion of the emoji.

Eton Institute, a leading international language and professional development training provider, is conducting a free workshop on facial communication: ‘Learn How to Speak Emoji' to ensure effective communication between people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds using facial expressions as characterized by various emojis. The workshop will teach participants how to mimic popular emojis like smiling face, grinning face, face with tears of joy, smiling face with heart-shaped eyes and kissing face, etc vis-a-vis how to enhance body movement, eye contact and other non-verbal elements.

“Nowadays, there is a huge gap between the real world and the digital world. As language is always evolving, we continually look for better ways to communicate, express and optimize our thoughts and feelings,” commented Yusra Hammadi, Digital Marketing Executive at Eton Institute. “Through simple facial expressions, used in real life and on mobile devices, we can join those worlds together for us to become effective communicators and also break down cultural barriers and differences,” she added.

The schedule of the workshop is as follows:

Date: April 1, 2015

Time: 6:30 pm -7:30 pm

Venue: Eton Institute - Dubai & Abu Dhabi
