Spontiphoria Boutique and Café held their official opening weekend which began on Thursday the 7th of November, 2013. The celebrations began with an exclusive media morning followed by an exciting evening event where Dubai's café loving community, VIPs, Socialites, Media and Bloggers enjoyed some Spontaneous Euphoria at the stunning Boutique Café! About Spontiphoria Spontiphoria, located in Wasl Square at the heart of Jumeirah, is a unique concept combining both a boutique and a café. Spontiphoria is owned by Sidiqa Sohail, an Emirati, who began baking at the age of 16. After receiving immensely positive feedback on her cakes and cookies, Sidiqa began a small home-based baking business in 2011. That enterprise soon expanded to developing her own boutique and café, on which work began in 2012. Sidiqa, 22, is a graduate of both the American University of Sharjah and Durham University in the UK where she studied International Relations and Conflict Prevention and Peace building, respectively. Spontiphoria, done up in shades of cream and pink, instantly attracts customers and passerby's with its bright, airy, and inviting ambience. To the right of the store is the boutique and to the left, is the café. The boutique stocks a variety of products ranging from Eastern and Western evening dresses, nightwear, maternity dresses and baby clothes. The boutique also stocks a variety of unique gifts, perfumes, lotions and vintage-inspired crockery and jewelry. Each piece is lovingly hand-picked by Sidiqa herself and the result is a carefully curated collection of all things lovely. Upon walking in to Spontiphoria, one can find all the traditional favorites such as jam cookies, carrot cake, red velvet cupcakes, brownies, and some of the more different items such as coconut jam slices, nutella cookies, caramel chocolate coconut slices, lemon rolls and their signature dessert: an oreo nutella cheesecake trifle. The philosophy behind the café, which focuses on baked goodies and desserts, is home-baked classic goodness. The kitchen, which is located right in-store behind a glass counter, does not stock any ingredients that are not traditionally found in a home kitchen. Sidiqa refuses to use commercial ingredients popular in and specific to the F+B industry. None of the baked goodies made at Spontiphoria contain pre-prepared pastes, syrups, or powders of any kind. A range of alternative baking is also provided with a gluten-free and vegan special present daily. Spontiphoria also serves breakfast and an ALL-DAY afternoon tea with a range of tiny sandwiches, scones, and mini desserts. The tea served is loose-leaf tea imported from the UK and ranges from organic rooibos to apple tea to a quirky caramel-flavored tea. In line with its warm and inviting atmosphere, Spontiphoria aims to be a welcoming community space with creative writing workshops and children's baking classes hosted regularly. Additionally, Spontiphoria welcomes young emerging artists to come and use their space as a platform for exposure. The café and boutique also hosts team-building exercises for different companies which revolve around fun and therapeutic cake-decorating. With a book club and regular talks hosted by professors and academics, the café and boutique is also a space where one can develop intellectually
