17-19 November 2013 Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre France faithfully renews its participation at The Speciality Food Festival, the Middle East's only dedicated gourmet and fine food trade exhibition. The French Pavilion, organized by UBIFRANCE -the French agency for international business development- will host ten new companies. Discover and meet them from 17th to 19th November 2013 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 5 – Stand E35 to E39 and F35 to F39! 10 French based companies will exhibit their fine food products for the first time at the Speciality Food Festival 2013. On the “menu” for these three days: French regional specialties (macaroons, chocolates, caramels, nougats, fruit & calissons), delicatessen products (traditional taste and flavors from abroad are mixed), hot drinks (chocolate and coffee), culinary aids for Executive Chefs (egg), etc. As usual, French suppliers will showcase a wide range of products with regional expertise, not to mention original products, such as date juice Made in France or “caviar from the sea”! The French offer will also honor the Seafex'section with a seafood trader. Importers/distributors, F&B Managers from luxury hotels, Executive Chefs, gourmet shops' buyers, Airlines caterers, etc. have this unique opportunity to discover those specialties that have made French gastronomy's reputation. According to Sophia SALMI, Head of the Agribusiness Department at the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in Dubai: “With the development of tourism and the steady increase in the population, the United Arab Emirates is a real opportunity for French companies in the food sector (agricultural, food and beverages, equipment, etc.). The hospitality industry is a key sector for the French food exports and fit perfectly with the offer of French products. For all these reasons, France must be present at the Speciality Food Festival 2013.” The French exports of food & beverage products increased by 80% in 5 years in the United Arab Emirates. In 2012, they amounted around 297.3 million EUR (increase by 13% compared to 2011), while in 2007 they were only 164.8 million EUR. France ranks the 12th largest supplier of the Federation. France is also the third supplier of dairy products behind New Zealand and the Netherlands. It has shown an increase in exports of over 48% in 2012 (34.7 million EUR). In the segment of poultry, France is the leading provider of high quality poultry. In the segment of fruits and vegetables, France is the fourth UAE supplier of apples (19 million EUR in 2012) with over 12% market shares.
