Following it's world premiere in Asbury Park at the Garden State Film Festival, ‘April Grace' will be making its international debut in Dubai, U.A.E on November 18th, 2013. ‘April Grace', written by George Murray and produced by Zandrak Productions and Magic House in 2012 will be screening its international premiere mid-November at the American School of Dubai. Starring in the film, alumni Kelsey Lynn Stokes will be in attendance and available for a Q&A session directly following the showing. Shot and produced between New Jersey and Boston, ‘April Grace' is a story about the greatest love poem almost written. Justin Brightman, (Steve White) – awkward teenager by day, expert lock-picker and genius poet by night – falls for the beautiful, older April Grace, and tries to win her heart by writing her the greatest love poem of all time. Directed by the ever-poised, Andrew Hutcheson, a New Jersey and New Zealand native, ‘April Grace' is a coming of age story that relates to all viewers the pangs of first love, friendship, and growing up. Owner of Zandrak Productions, Andrew took on the daunting task of producing and directing his first feature film over the summer of 2011, rallying a cast and crew from all over the tri-state area to work and play in Washington Township, NJ. On the night principal photography came to a close, Hutcheson expressed, “All I can think about is the amount of love that went into bringing this film to where it is.” Shane Seibel, the man behind Magic House, employs his magician's tricks behind the camera as cinematographer. The lead actors of the film, Steve White (Justin) and Kelsey Lynn Stokes (Penny), portray a palpable chemistry of best friends that have no idea how much they are in love with each other. ‘April Grace' follows Justin as he sets out to make April Grace fall for him by way of irresistible poetic signals, sending ‘best friend' Penny to garner the attention of Shawn, who works in her father's autobody shop. Mark Bell from FilmThreat reports, “The acting is strong, and while Steve White's Justin may seem, initially, like the obvious choice as the focus for the film, I often found myself more engaged with Kelsey Lynn Stokes' portrayal of Penny. While she maintains her fierce loyalty to Justin, Penny is still curious about, and appreciative of, the new attention she's beginning to get from Shawn. There's a natural feeling to her reactions in every direction and sense, and for once a teen drama doesn't become melodramatic; Penny's world isn't ending, it may not even be really changing, and she's navigating the waters as best she can.” To view the trailer as well as cast & crew bios, please visit www.aprilgracemovie.com. Stokes attended the American School of Dubai from 2003-2009, and “is ecstatic for so many people that have supported (her) to have the opportunity to see the film. It is sure to be a memorable celebration.” ASD's new campus, which opened in 2010, features a state-of-the-art 600+ seat auditorium and black box theater. Dubai is also home to the Dubai International Film Festival, attracting acclaimed artists from all around the globe, and takes place during the first week of December. The film, shot on superior equipment, was filmed with a RED MX camera during principal photography, and a RED Epic for the duration of pickups. It runs a length of 98 minutes, and will leave audiences dewy-eyed and reminiscent of their teenage years.
