Indian Expats storm to the top of the SNTTA League SHARJAH- 29 Oct 2013: The Indian Expat Golf Society stormed to the top of the SNTTA League after the first round in the Conares Golf Society League, with two resounding victories against the new outfit Lloyds Register. Quite outstandingly the Indian Expat partnership of Abdul Moiz Khan & A.E Ravi won their encounter 10/8, which is the first time in the Golf Society Leagues four year history that the highest margin of victory in the matchplay format has even been accomplished. Their other team members didn't let them down by running out 3/2 winners to put them firmly on top with six points from two matches. Over in the Worldwide Golf League it was the Dubai Irish Golf Society and the Dubai Duffers who put themselves at the top of the league. Two wins a piece put them in poll position ready for the second round of matches. The Dubai Irish are keen to compete this year and prove their Irish golfing heritage can make them a tough society to beat, they threw in the top guns of Michael Conneely and Dave Lawlor both playing of handicaps of 4 and below to assist the Burke brothers in what was a tough encounter against the Dubai Divots, however 3/2 & 2/1 margin of victories was enough to make the decision worthy. The next round of fixtures in the SNTTA & WWG leagues are due to be played on Saturday 23rd November 2013.
