The Role Job Purpose The Public Relations Officer (PRO) will be responsible for managing the companys government relations, immigration, employee documentation and regulatory requirements across the UAE. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of UAE government procedures and be confident dealing with government authorities. Arabic fluency is essential, both written and spoken. Experience within the retail sector is highly desirable, although candidates from other industries with strong UAE PRO experience will also be considered. Key Responsibilities Government Relations & PRO Services Manage all government-related transactions on behalf of the company. Liaise with UAE government departments and authorities, including MOHRE, GDRFA, ICP, Department of Economy and Tourism and other relevant authorities. Process employment visas, renewals, cancellations, transfers and amendments. Process work permits, labour contracts and other employment-related documentation. Coordinate Emirates ID applications and renewals. Coordinate medical fitness examinations and related requirements. Manage employee visa status changes and cancellations. Assist with company license renewals, establishment cards and government registrations. Obtain government approvals, permits and NOCs where required. Monitor all government-related deadlines and ensure transactions are completed on time. Employee Administration Manage the complete visa and government documentation process for new employees. Coordinate onboarding requirements involving government authorities. Process employee visa cancellations and exit formalities. Respond to employee queries relating to visas, Emirates ID, work permits and other government requirements. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. Monitor expiry dates for visas, Emirates IDs, work permits, passports and other relevant documents. Company Administration Assist with trade license renewals and amendments. Maintain company government files and registrations. Manage relevant government portals and online systems. Maintain a comprehensive schedule of all government and regulatory renewals. Ensure the company remains compliant with UAE government requirements. Provide regular updates to management regarding outstanding transactions, renewals and potential issues.
Requirements Candidate Requirements Essential Minimum 3 years UAE PRO experience. UAE driving license is essential. Excellent knowledge of UAE immigration, labour and government procedures. Strong working knowledge of MOHRE, GDRFA, ICP and relevant government portals. Proven experience managing employee visas, work permits, Emirates ID and medical procedures. Fluent Arabic written and spoken is mandatory. Strong English communication skills. Excellent organizational and administrative abilities. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and transactions simultaneously. Strong attention to detail. Confident dealing with government departments and officials. Ability to work independently and resolve issues proactively. Preferred Previous experience within the retail industry is highly desirable. Experience supporting a business with a large international employee workforce would be advantageous. Personal Attributes Highly organised and dependable with a strong multi national company work ethic Proactive and solutions-focused. Professional and confident when dealing with government authorities. Discreet when handling confidential employee and company information. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Key Performance Indicators Timely completion of all visa, labour and government transactions. No avoidable penalties resulting from missed deadlines or compliance issues. Accurate and up-to-date employee and company records. Efficient handling of government-related issues. Timely completion of license, visa and registration renewals. Positive internal service levels when supporting employees and management. Education A relevant degree or professional qualification is preferred, although strong UAE PRO experience is more important than academic qualifications.
