The Role Job Description : We are seeking skilled Shuttering Carpenters to carry out formwork and shuttering activities at construction sites in the United Arab Emirates. The candidate will be responsible for preparing, assembling, installing, aligning, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and UAE site HSE requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Read and understand construction drawings and formwork requirements. Measure, mark, cut, and prepare timber, plywood, and other formwork materials. • Assemble and install shuttering/formwork for columns, beams, slabs, walls, foundations, and other concrete structures. • Ensure formwork is properly aligned, level, plumb, supported, and securely fixed. Install supports, braces, ties, and other formwork components as required. • Check dimensions, levels, and positioning before concrete pouring. Apply approved form-release agents where required. • Dismantle and remove shuttering safely after concrete has achieved the required strength. • Clean, maintain, and reuse formwork materials where applicable. • Rectify defective or damaged formwork before concrete placement. • Coordinate with steel fixers, masons, concrete teams, and site supervisors. • Follow approved method statements, drawings, and site instructions. • Comply with UAE construction site HSE requirements and use the required PPE. • Maintain proper housekeeping and keep tools and work areas safe and organized. • Report material requirements, defects, or site issues to the Foreman/Supervisor. • Perform other related carpentry and formwork duties as assigned.
Requirements • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant shuttering/formwork carpentry experience. • Education/Certification: Carpentry Trade Certificate preferred. • Previous experience in building, infrastructure, or concrete construction projects is preferred. • UAE/GCC construction experience is an advantage. • Basic ability to read and follow construction drawings and site instructions. Key Skills : • Good knowledge of shuttering and formwork installation. • Skilled in measuring, cutting, assembling, and fixing formwork materials. • Ability to work with timber, plywood, and related formwork systems. • Good understanding of levels, dimensions, alignment, and plumb. • Ability to use carpentry hand tools and power tools safely. • Good attention to detail and workmanship quality. • Knowledge of construction site safety and PPE requirements. • Physically fit and able to work at demanding construction sites. • Good teamwork, discipline, and communication skills. • Ability to work efficiently under site schedules and deadlines.
