The Role We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our construction supervision team for major infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, contract requirements, and applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities • Review contract documents, technical specifications, approved shop drawings, method statements, and project HSE requirements. • Inspect and monitor mechanical works associated with infrastructure projects, including water supply networks, sewerage and drainage systems, pumping stations, irrigation systems, utility pipelines, and other related mechanical installations. • Ensure contractor activities comply with project specifications, approved construction methods, quality standards, and applicable codes through regular inspections, testing, and verification. • Monitor contractor manpower, equipment deployment, work progress, and daily construction activities. • Maintain accurate site records, including: o Workforce and equipment utilization o Progress of works and work locations o Construction methods, materials, and installation activities • Verify material deliveries, storage, and installation to ensure compliance with approved specifications. • Carry out site inspections, measurements, testing, and commissioning verification as required. • Implement and follow instructions issued by the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE). • Enforce project QA/QC procedures and ensure all works meet the required quality standards. • Monitor compliance with Abu Dhabi authority requirements, applicable UAE codes, and international engineering standards. • Ensure contractor compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and report any non-conformance or safety violations promptly. • Prepare inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and daily site records as required.
Requirements Qualifications & Requirements • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 8 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects. • At least 5 years of UAE consultancy experience, preferably on infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. • Strong experience in mechanical infrastructure works, including water transmission and distribution networks, sewerage systems, stormwater drainage, pumping stations, irrigation systems, and utility services. • Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures, HSE standards, and Abu Dhabi authority requirements. • Ability to read, interpret, and review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents. • Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and reporting skills. • Familiarity with inspection and testing procedures for mechanical infrastructure works.
