About the company: We are an emerging leader in the trade of base oils and petrochemical products, distributing them to markets in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. We specialize in physical trading and distribution of refined base oil and petrochemicals, providing tailored business solutions to our customers. Our expertise includes sourcing, processing, trading activities, financing services, and optimizing logistics operations and storage facilities. Job Summary: The Trader will be responsible for managing trading activities in the oil and gas sector. This role will involve sourcing and cultivating relationships with local partners and businesses within the petrochemical industry, optimizing trading opportunities, and mitigating risks effectively. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in trading petrochemical products, a comprehensive understanding of the petrochemical market, and strong communication and negotiation skills. Key Responsibilities: • Trading Expertise: Demonstrate substantial experience in trading petchem, oil&gas or related products. • Business Development: Drive business growth and development by sourcing and cultivating relationships with local partners and businesses within the petrochemical industry. • Market Understanding: Possess a comprehensive understanding of the petrochemical market as a whole, staying abreast of trends, demands, and fluctuations to inform trading strategies. • Book Management: Manage a substantial book of oil and gas products, leveraging +5 years of industry experience to optimize trading opportunities and mitigate risks effectively. • Cross-Trading Competency: Ability to engage as a cross-trader or demonstrate expertise across various petrochemical products while understanding their intricacies and market dynamics. • Liaison and Networking: Effectively liaise with multiple businesses within and around the petrochemical sector, fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations.

Requirements
Qualifications: - Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading oil and gas products. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Skills: - In-depth knowledge of the petrochemical market dynamics, trends, and demands. - Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. - Proven ability to manage a substantial book of oil and gas products. - Proficiency in using trade finance software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Advanced knowledge of international trade regulations (e.g., UCP 600). Language: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
