The Role JOB PURPOSE The Technical Engineer (Architectural) will act as the technical link between the design office and site execution teams, ensuring that architectural works are built strictly in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. The role involves reviewing architectural documentation, resolving technical queries, and supporting the overall quality of architectural works delivered on the Ghuwaifat Project. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and design documentation for accuracy, buildability, and compliance with contract requirements. • Coordinate design compliance on site, ensuring works are executed in line with approved architectural drawings and details. • Resolve technical queries (RFIs) between the design consultant, project management, and construction teams in a timely manner. • Review and comment on architectural shop drawings and material submittals prior to approval. • Support the QA/QC team by clarifying architectural design intent during inspections and snagging. • Coordinate architectural interfaces with civil, structural, and MEP works to avoid clashes and rework. • Attend design coordination and technical meetings, recording and following up on action items. • Maintain an updated record of architectural drawing revisions and ensure the latest issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings are used on site. • Assist in reviewing variations and change requests that have an architectural design impact. • Support handover documentation, including as-built drawing review for architectural scope.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelors degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering. • 4+ years of experience in architectural design review and site technical coordination on construction projects. • Sound knowledge of architectural detailing, finishes, and construction methods. • Prior experience on infrastructure or building projects in the UAE is preferred. • Familiarity with local municipality and authority approval processes is an advantage. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and coordination drawings. • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and MS Office applications. • Excellent coordination and communication skills across design and construction teams. • Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset. • Ability to manage multiple technical queries and deadlines simultaneously.
