The Role JOB PURPOSE The Senior HSE will lead the implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures on the Ghuwaifat Project. The role is responsible for driving a strong safety culture on site, leading the HSE team, and ensuring full regulatory and project compliance across all site activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee the implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures across the project site. • Lead, mentor, and supervise the site HSE team, including Safety Officers and Safety Inspectors. • Plan and conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all work areas. • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented. • Ensure project HSE plans, method statements, and risk assessments are developed, reviewed, and kept up to date. • Ensure full compliance with UAE HSE regulations, client requirements, and company HSE policy. • Coordinate with project management and subcontractors on HSE performance, training, and awareness programmes. • Prepare and present HSE performance reports, statistics, and KPIs to project and senior management. • Liaise with regulatory authorities and third-party bodies on HSE compliance matters. • Champion emergency preparedness and response planning for the site.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelors degree or diploma in a relevant discipline; NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification required. • 8+ years of HSE experience in construction or infrastructure projects, including a supervisory/leadership role. • Strong working knowledge of UAE HSE legislation and international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001). • Proven track record of leading site HSE teams on large-scale projects. • Incident investigation and root-cause analysis experience is required. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent risk assessment, audit, and investigation capabilities. • Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels of the project. • Proficiency in MS Office and HSE reporting systems. • High attention to detail with a proactive, safety-first mindset.
