The Role About Company & Role Purpose Our client maintains a reputation since the year 1980 of being one of the most popular distribution, retail and production of beverages and food organizations in Bahrain. The job holder shall act as an Infrastructure Specialist, responsible for ensuring the availability, stability, resilience, and performance of client’s enterprise IT and network infrastructure. They shall provide advanced technical expertise across WAN, LAN, MPLS, routing/switching, firewalls, and multi-site connectivity, supporting critical business operations across offices, data rooms, warehouses, and retail locations. The job holder is required to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure services through hands-on technical execution, proactive monitoring, upgrades and lifecycle management, structured incident response and root cause analysis, and effective coordination with telecom providers and technology vendors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES Operational Ownership & Stability · Own day-to-day operation of enterprise network and infrastructure services, ensuring availability and performance across all sites. · Administer and support WAN/Internet connectivity (MPLS, Fiber, ISP routing) including redundancy, failover testing, and service optimization. · Operate, maintain, and upgrade firewall and network security platforms (policies, NAT, VPN, firmware upgrades, and rule reviews) in coordination with Cybersecurity requirements. · Support server room / data room infrastructure (cabling, rack layouts, core/edge/distribution switching, and environmental/physical security coordination). · Safeguard IT infrastructure assets within secure areas, ensuring proper movement controls and records. Incident, Change & Risk Management · Conduct advanced troubleshooting for major incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective/preventive actions. · Plan and deliver infrastructure changes and upgrades (routers, switches, wireless, links) using change management controls to minimize disruption. · Monitor network health and capacity, identify risks, and recommend improvements to resilience, performance, and scalability. Vendor, Documentation & Governance Support · Coordinate with telecom operators, ISPs, and vendors to ensure service continuity, manage escalations, and drive SLA compliance. · Coordinate vendor support contracts and renewals from a technical perspective (scope validation, quotations, and technical clarifications). · Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation including topology diagrams, IP plans, configurations, inventories, and recovery procedures. · Provide technical input to the Manager – IT Operations & Cybersecurity on architecture decisions, risk items, and improvement roadmaps. Cybersecurity Alignment · Implement infrastructure security controls and configurations in alignment with approved cybersecurity policies and standards; security strategy, governance, and monitoring remain under the Cybersecurity function. · Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field. · Relevant professional certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or equivalent). · IT service management and security certifications are an advantage (e.g., ITIL Foundation, ISO 27001 awareness, or equivalent).
Requirements Experience · 5–7 years of proven experience in IT operations/service delivery with a strong focus on network and infrastructure operations. · Hands-on experience supporting multi-site environments (HQ, warehouses, and retail branches) with business-critical connectivity requirements. · Demonstrated experience coordinating with ISPs/telecom providers and vendors (fault isolation, escalation, and service restoration). · Experience executing controlled changes in production (maintenance windows, rollback planning, and post-change validation). Knowledge · Strong understanding of enterprise networking (WAN/LAN, routing, switching, MPLS, VPNs, QoS, and segmentation). · Awareness of hybrid connectivity models, SD?WAN concepts, and cloud?connected infrastructure is an advantage. · Working knowledge of firewall and security gateway concepts (policy management, site-to-site and remote access VPNs, and secure connectivity troubleshooting). · Knowledge of high-availability/resilience patterns (redundant links, failover routing, dual ISPs, and continuity planning). · Familiarity with server room / network room standards (structured cabling, rack layouts, patching, labelling, and physical security). · Understanding of incident management, problem management, and RCA practices for complex infrastructure issues. · Awareness of operational controls such as change management, access control, configuration management, and vendor support models. Skills · Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills across various layers, components, and infrastructure environments. · Ability to produce clear report types such as incident, change, root cause analyses, and action plans. · Proficiency in planning and executing infrastructure upgrades and migrations. · Strong vendor coordination and service level management skills. · Maintain accurate and well-organized technical documentation. · Ability to work effectively under pressure with sound prioritization and decision-making. · Hands-on and disciplined approach to infrastructure operations and support.
