The Role About Company & Role Purpose A leading FMCG company is seeking a Traditional Trade Assistant Sales Manager to achieve revenue and meet sales targets across all segments by providing guidance and direction to a team of Salesmen. This position is pivotal in establishing shelf visibility for brands in MT and building a distribution network for company products in the TT channel, expanding market penetration and boosting market share and increasing distribution footprint. Central to this role is the strategic development of route plans for the team to ensure comprehensive market coverage, thereby increasing sales productivity and efficiency. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES Achieve both volume and value sales targets by month, quarter, and year. Ensure receivables and cash are in line with company policy. Implement sales clearance plans, if necessary, as per the direction of the Sales Manager. Build and expand distribution of companys products within the TT channel. Key Account & Customer Interaction Establish relations with key people in MT and ensure interactions with shelf supervisors. Ensure stock rotation across the product range to maintain company standards. Collect feedback and market intelligence to review and refine the segment strategy. Negotiate with key customers in the channel to expand the cold chain footprint and enhance product freshness. Manage relationships with top 25 dealers, acting as the main point of contact. Develop and implement distribution plans for comprehensive coverage of the companys products in the TT channel. Align with the sales strategy in coordination with the head of distribution to ensure consistent implementation in distribution and expansion within the TT channel. Monitor daily sales and market trends of the Dealer business and provide support to the sales team and dealers to meet growth expectations. Conduct daily market visits by area to review distribution practices. Effectively communicate sales targets and provide size-wise sales information to the team. Coordinate with salesclerk and store team to establish daily delivery schedules for the TT channel, including first and second loads. Develop area-specific route plans for salesmen with visit frequencies based on sales movement. Ensure all cold chain chillers have a comprehensive database and asset tracking document. Monitor competitor activities and promptly report any concerns to the SM for necessary actions. Ensure display plan-o-grams are implemented. Ensure stock tracking in MT, both on-shelf and back store through the team. Initiate and develop promotional campaigns in coordination with Sales Manager. Sustain, maintain and build merchandising standards. Provide on-the-job coaching to the team and mentor the sales team to enhance productivity and achieve sales targets. Optimize route plans and beat plans to maximize salesperson visits and coverage. Continuously improve processes and capabilities to drive growth and operational efficiency. Regularly evaluate the performance of the sales team and create development plans to foster their professional growth.
Requirements Qualifications Bachelors degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. 7+ years of sales experience in the FMCG industry in a sales capacity, of which at least 2 years of experience should be in distribution. 10+ years of overall experience. Fluency in spoken and written English (Arabic is an advantage). Skills Strong leadership skills. Strategic thinking capability. Entrepreneurial mindset and exposure to all areas of the distribution business model. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Specialization in selling skills and the ability to impart these to team members. Excellent negotiating and influencing skills. Strong management and organizational skills. Self-driven with high self-motivation. Good proficiency in Microsoft Office.
