The Role About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Technical Engineer to provide technical support for marine construction and offshore projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing designs, preparing technical documentation, coordinating with engineering teams, and ensuring that project activities comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents for marine construction projects • Prepare technical submittals including method statements, calculations, and material specifications • Coordinate with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to resolve technical issues • Ensure all technical activities comply with project specifications, international codes (ISO, BS, ASTM, API), and client requirements • Assist in preparing and reviewing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical reports • Provide technical support during construction, installation, and commissioning phases • Conduct technical inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with approved documents • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on technical matters • Review and approve subcontractor technical submittals and material approvals • Prepare technical queries (TQs) and coordinate with consultants for resolution • Support procurement team in technical evaluation of suppliers and materials • Maintain accurate technical documentation and filing systems • Assist in preparing project close-out reports and technical handover documents • Stay updated on latest engineering standards, technologies, and industry best practices • Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and site staff
Requirements Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field • Minimum 5+ years of experience as Technical Engineer in marine, construction, or oil & gas industries • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards (ISO, BS, ASTM, API, etc.) • Experience with marine construction, piling, subsea pipelines, or offshore structures is highly preferred • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or similar • Familiarity with project documentation and technical submittal processes • Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) principles • Valid safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) preferred • Fluency in English; Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is a plus • Professional membership (e.g., ICE, IMarEST) is an advantage Required Skills: • Strong technical knowledge and analytical abilities • Good communication and coordination skills • Attention to detail for documentation and compliance • Problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Team collaboration with engineering, procurement, and construction teams
