The Role About the Role: We are seeking a competent Site Engineer specializing in civil pipeline works for marine GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) pipe installations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of GRP pipelines in marine and offshore environments, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise and coordinate daily pipeline installation activities including trenching, pipe laying, jointing, lamination, and backfilling for marine GRP pipelines • Ensure all GRP pipe installation works comply with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and international standards (ISO 14692, AWWA M45) • Monitor trench excavation, dewatering, pipe bedding, and backfilling operations in accordance with project requirements • Supervise GRP pipe jointing and lamination procedures including adhesive bonding, coupling installation, and flange bolting • Coordinate with survey teams for pipeline route alignment, setting out, and as-built verification • Conduct site inspections and quality checks to verify adherence to specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards • Review and interpret isometric drawings, spool drawings, and pipeline alignment sheets • Prepare and submit inspection requests (RFIs), method statements, and risk assessments • Monitor material deliveries including GRP pipes, fittings, couplings, and consumables; ensure proper handling and storage • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and QAQC teams for inspections and approvals • Maintain accurate daily records including progress reports, manpower, equipment usage, and material consumption • Enforce HSE protocols including permits, toolbox talks, PPE compliance, and emergency procedures • Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including hydrotesting, flushing, and pressure testing • Prepare test packs and maintain documentation for pipeline testing and handover • Report delays, technical issues, or incidents to the Project Manager or Construction Manager • Provide technical guidance to site supervisors, foremen, and pipeline installation crews
Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Minimum 5+ years of experience in pipeline installation, with specific experience in GRP/FRP piping for marine or offshore projects Strong knowledge of GRP pipe materials, jointing methods (adhesive bonded, coupling), and lamination procedures Familiarity with international standards including ISO 14692 (GRP piping for offshore applications) and AWWA M45 • Experience with marine pipeline installation methods including trenching, floating installation, or underwater pull-in • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management software • Knowledge of hydrotesting, pressure testing, and pipeline commissioning procedures • Valid safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) preferred • Offshore survival certificates (BOSIET/HUET) if required • Fluency in English; Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is a plus Required Skills: • Strong technical knowledge of GRP pipeline installation in marine environments • Excellent supervision and coordination abilities • Attention to detail for quality and compliance • Good communication and report writing skills • Problem-solving for site and technical issues • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines • Team collaboration with site staff, subcontractors, and management
