The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Manager (Electrical/Mechanical) to oversee the technical delivery and compliance of engineering services across a complex facilities environment. The successful candidate will serve as the primary client point of contact for all technical matters, leading a team of technical inspectors to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of building systems. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role requiring strong engineering expertise rather than a traditional facilities management background. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and supervise a team of technical inspectors, ensuring effective monitoring of all engineering systems and maintenance activities. • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client, providing expert advice and ensuring timely resolution of technical issues. • Oversee the inspection, testing, and compliance of electrical, mechanical, and associated building systems. • Ensure planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities are delivered in accordance with SFG20 maintenance standards and statutory requirements. • Manage technical compliance for water systems, including water storage tanks, water quality management, periodic testing, inspections, and associated regulatory requirements (e.g., Legionella/L8 compliance where applicable). • Review maintenance reports, inspection findings, and technical documentation, implementing corrective actions where required. • Monitor contractor performance and ensure engineering works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and technical assessments to verify compliance with contractual, statutory, and HSE requirements. • Support asset lifecycle planning, technical risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Coordinate with operations, HSE, and project teams to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and operational excellence

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. • Extensive technical knowledge across all FM engineering disciplines, with strong expertise in electrical and mechanical systems. • Proven experience in a Technical Manager or Senior Engineering role within complex facilities or infrastructure environments. • Strong understanding of SFG20 planned maintenance standards. • Experience managing water systems, including water tank inspections, water quality monitoring, and periodic testing. • Previous marine, port, naval, or maritime infrastructure experience is highly desirable.
