The Role The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions across the manufacturing operation. This role ensures that all products meet defined quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements while driving a culture of continuous improvement, waste reduction, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in fabrics, stitching processes, and end-to-end garment/curtain manufacturing, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Reports to: Head of Operations Responsibilities: 1. Quality Management & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System aligned with ISO:9001 standards & customer specific regulations Ensure compliance with internal quality benchmarks and customer specifications Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented Establish and monitor quality KPIs (defect rates, rework, returns, etc.) 2. Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) Define and implement QA/QC processes across all production stages (cutting, stitching, finishing, packing) Introducing in-line and end-line inspection standards to minimize defects Ensure fabric inspection protocols are robust and adhered to Standardize quality checkpoints for made-to-measure products 3. Fabric & Stitching Expertise Lead fabric quality evaluation (shrinkage, colour fastness, defects, durability) Ensure correct handling and usage of various fabric types (blackout, sheer, lined, etc.) Define stitching standards (seam strength, stitch density, finishing quality) Work closely with production teams to resolve technical quality issues 4. Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement Lead RCCA (Root Cause & Corrective Action) processes for defects, complaints, and non-conformances Implement structured problem-solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto analysis) Drive permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence Analyses defect trends and implement preventive measures to be presented monthly to Operations Head 5. Lean Manufacturing & 5S Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance efficiency Implement and sustain 5S practices across production areas Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities Collaborate with operations to improve lead times and productivity 6. Team Leadership & Training Lead and develop the QA/QC team across departments Conduct regular training on quality standards, stitching techniques, and defect prevention Build a strong quality culture across the organization Ensure accountability at all levels for product quality 7. Customer Quality & Feedback Management Handle customer complaints and quality-related feedback Ensure timely investigation, RCA, and corrective actions Work closely with sales and operations to align quality expectations Drive reduction in returns and customer claims
Requirements Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field Certification in Lean / Six Sigma (Green Belt or above preferred) ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification (advantageous) Minimum Previous Experience: 510+ years of experience in quality management within garment, textile, or curtain manufacturing Proven experience in made-to-measure or customized production environments (highly preferred) Other Skills: Strong knowledge of: Fabric types, behaviour, and quality standards Stitching techniques and garment construction QA/QC systems and inspection methods Hands-on experience with: RCCA methodologies Lean Manufacturing & 5S ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail Leadership and team management capability Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-variation production environment Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Strong Microsoft office experience Data analysis using ERP systems Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Reduction in defect rate (%) Reduction in rework and scrap Customer complaint rate First-pass yield (FPY) Audit compliance scores On-time corrective action closure
