Job Summary: To supervise and control all paving related activities on projects, managing the gang, planning the work as per client and Colas requirements, to achieve the minimum outputs required, with regards to the project scope, ensuring all specifications and quality parameters are achieved, in a safe and cost-efficient manner. Operational Responsibilities: • Responsible for managing and optimizing the performance of a multicultural workforce while ensuring the efficient execution of asphalt paving operations. • The role includes planning and coordinating manpower, materials, equipment, and project activities, monitoring key performance indicators, and providing daily reports to the Project Manager. • Key duties also involve improving workforce productivity, ensuring accurate timesheet management, offering operational guidance to project teams, and travelling within the region to support skills transfer and assess technical expertise. Planning Responsibilities: • Assist the Project Manager to prepare a project program in line with client’s requirements. • Prepare weekly & daily program in line with project program. • Lead weekly project planning/report back meetings, to control site activities and encourage two-way communication. • Pre-visit site and plan each day’s required work in advance – daily scheduling. Resourcing Responsibilities: • Requisition labour, plant and material as required for projects. • Mobilise required resources, for punctual execution of the projects. • Ensure only required Equipment &Tools are used for each specific project. • Ensure that minor plant & equipment are in good working order and being maintained. Productivity Responsibilities: • Daily control, to insure efficient application of labour and plant, in terms agreed weekly program. • Set and improve daily targets and productivities in line, or better, then the Tender Output/Allowable. • Improve productivity via identifying alternative methods and innovations. • Communicate daily & weekly objectives to the team, as well as the operation targets. • Monitor Progress daily & weekly. • Re-programme and set new daily Targets if behind programme or when daily outputs are not achieved. • Give daily feedback to team on good and bad performance. Quality Control Responsibilities: • Understands quality requirements of projects, through project specific specifications, special provisions and drawings – discuss with Project Manager before start of Project. • Ensures sub ordinates meet specific quality requirements and prevent rework (Project drawings & specifications). • Compliance with BS EN ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 Accreditation.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications: • Relevant Asphalt Qualification is essential. • Engineering background is desirable. • Dubai experience is mandatory. Experience / Achievements: • Experience of a similar role or environment. • At least 5 years operational/supervisory or managerial experience in asphalt contracting operations. • Experienced dealing with internal and external stakeholders (workforce and clients).
